Bio

Nick started karate training at Newcastle University in 1979, joining Bilston (West Midlands) SKC to train under Sensei George Bagdi and latterly Sensei Graham Ralph during vacations and after graduating.  For two years after University, in addition to Bilston SKC, he trained at TI SKC and other West Midlands clubs as often as he could.  Nick received his 1st Dan in 1983 and his 2nd Dan in 1990, qualifying as a C Grade Referee in 1985 and B Grade in 1986.  In 1988 Nick set up and instructed at the Commando Training Centre Royal Marines SKC.  In 2014 Nick joined Kyoto SKC having taken a 23 year sabbatical from karate training due to work commitments.

In 2018 Nick received his 3rd Dan from Hanshi Asano (9th Dan)
