SKIF-GB 44th Spring Champs Flyer.webpPlease find attached the Entry Form for the upcoming Spring Karate Championships. Please take particular notice of the following:

  1. All students who have been selected for the SKIF Karate World Championships in August are to compete at the Nationals. We still need to select competitors for Junior and Senior Kata, and also look at students for Team Events and these will be based on the outcome of Individual performances.
  2. Kata Categories:
    • 15 Years & Below & Adults Junior Kata: Students will be required to know Kata's up to their current Grade:
      • - 9th & 8th Kyu (Heian Shodan)
      • - 7th Kyu (Heian Shodan - Heian Nidan)
      • - 6th Kyu (Heian Shodan - Heian Sandan)
      • - 5th Kyu (Heian Shodan - Heian Yondan)
      • - 4th Kyu (Heian Shodan - Heian Godan)
      • - 3rd Kyu + (All Heian Kata's & Tekki Shodan)
    • Senior Male & Female Kata 16 Years +:
      • ​​​​​​​- Preliminary Kata: Bassai Dai, Jion, Enpi & Kanku Dai
    • Master Male Kata 40 Years +:
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​- Preliminary Kata: Bassai Dai & Jion
  3. Kumite Categories:
    • Children's Tap Kumite:
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​- Controlled Tap's to the shoulder will score, there should be no contact to the face.
    • Children's Jiyu Kumite 10-11 Years (3rd Kyu +):
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​- This is Chudan Only Techniques.
      • - If students are competing in the above category then they CANNOT also compete in the Children's 10-11 Years Tap Kumite and vice versa.
    • Jiyu Kumite 12 Years +:
      • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​- Both Chudan and Jodan Techniques will be scored, control must be exercised at all times.
      • - All Jiyu Kumite Categories - Students must wear Mitts and Gumshield.
  4. Regional Team Event:
    • Pasq, has decided that for this years Regional Event for there to be more emphasis on those students who will be going to Hungary for the SKIF Karate World Championships to allow competitors the opportunity to perform.
    • Students will be able to compete in more than 1 category, so could do Kumite and Kata in the event. 
    • This will be a 6 Person Event and will comprise of the following:
      • - 2 x Male Kumite (16 Years +)
      • - 1 x Master Male Kumite (40 Years +)
      • - 1 x Female Kumite (16 Years +)
      • - 1 x Male Kumite (13-15 Years)
      • - 1 x Adult Kata (16 Years +, 3rd Kyu and above)
    • As with all previous Regional Events, if an area is short on competitors for a particular category then they can loan a student from another Region. That student will only be able to compete for 1 Region, and this must be agreed by All Regions, prior to the event starting.​​​​​​​
    • All four Regions are allowed to be represented; Scotland and the North West, East Midlands, Southern Area and Wales & South West.​​​​​​​

Lastly, please ensure that all entries and money are in by the latest Wednesday 19th April
