Dear All,

We hope this email finds you all fit and well, we wanted to bring you up to date with the proposed 2023 14th SKIF WC which Japan was nominated to host back in 2019 at the SKIF General Meeting in the Czech Republic. Unfortunately Japan have withdrawn from hosting due to the fact that Covid infections is at an all time high in Japan and the current restrictions in place on tourists visiting makes it difficult for their preparations.

Both Hungary and Ukraine submitted bids at the time that Japan did to host and so in this instance, it is likely that the new host country will be Hungary (although they have until mid September to confirm if this is going to doable in the time that they have to prepare) Ukraine naturally is out of the question considering the political situation that they currently have going on.

We will of course keep everyone updated as soon as we receive confirmation of a new host country and we will continue with our preparations to attend the 14th SKIF WC. Fingers crossed that it is in Hungary as this will make it a lot more affordable for students and families travelling from the UK.

An official communication from GHQ will be released in the coming days, so please don’t put anything on social media until this has been published. But you can update students in your club.

I am still trying to organise a National Championships in the Autumn and will of course let you all know as soon as this has been confirmed.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
