Hi Everyone,
It's been fantastic to see so many of our clubs getting back in the Dojo and in some form of normality, despite the ongoing situation. Further to my email on Thursday I hope the new restrictions have not impacted you or your facilities provider, as stated previously we are classed as a COVID Secure Organised Team Sport and therefore unaffected at the present time.
However, as a Federation we MUST follow the "Dojo ni Kaeru" Guidelines in order to allow us to continue training and not face potential suspension.
I trust that you have all had time to digest the comprehensive Dojo ni Kaeru Document which was sent out on the 27th August and I must reiterate the following points:
- Separate Entrance and Exits into the Dojo (Wherever possible - speak to your Facilities Provider)
- Regular use of appropriate Hand Sanitiser and Washing of Hands for 20 seconds before and after training
- Everyone should arrive to training in their Gi, limit the use of the changing rooms to get changed and no showering
- Suitable Footwear to train in - nobody should be barefoot due to contamination and the risks
- 2 Metre Social Distancing in the dojo at all Times
- No physical contact at all in the Dojo
- No congregating of students and parents before, during or after training - everyone should disperse promptly following the conclusion of the Lesson in a socially distanced manner
As Instructors it is important that YOU control the Risk, keep the infection risk low and do not allow for any unnecessary risks.
I am sure you are all aware that the Covid R Rate is increasing not just locally but on a National Scale, and we must all do our bit to minimise the risks and therefore allow us to continue training in the Dojo as long as possible. Failure to follow these guidelines will put all Clubs in the Federation training in the Dojo at Risk of closure. SKIF Great Britain have our members and families welfare at the heart of all these decisions and we must remain cautious at these challenging times.
