We hope to find you and your families all fit, healthy and well. It goes without saying it's been a challenging 2020 to date but we hope that we have now turned a corner and that our clubs can prepare for the safe return to their Dojo's.

Firstly, a very quick message from Hanshi - he hopes that everyone is safe and most importantly you and your families are all healthy and still training in whatever capacity that may be. He is well, and still shielding at home but hasn't lost his sense of humour and is looking forward to seeing his members once it is safe for him to do so.

Our main priority is to ensure that all SKIF GB Clubs return to their Dojo's as smoothly as possible and to let you know that we are here to support you as best we can in whatever capacity you may require. So please if you need anything then get in touch with us.

We have been working hard to pull together the attached Guidance for our Clubs and Instructors - we are aware that many of you have and will be in the process of Returning to your Dojo's and so we wanted to support you as best we can with this transition so we have pulled together the Dojo ni Kaeru "Return to Dojo" Guidance for you.

Your venues that you use will legally require an up to date Risk Assessment for COVID-19 and so from a Federation point of view we feel that it is best if all clubs are on the same page and following the same Guidance. Please work as best you can with your venues in these difficult times, and if you aren't comfortable with how they are going about things then you have every right to question it - all Venues should be following the latest Government Guidance and the attached will assist you with any questions that you may have.

For anyone who hasn't already completed the Covid Safe Martial Arts Instructor Certification, I have again enclosed the link below.

Covid Safe Martial Arts Instructor Certification

In preparation for our return to the Dojo, we would recommend that ALL instructors complete the above course online, free of charge to help us prepare to be as safe as possible for our return. This will reassure both students and parents that we are taking every precaution necessary to enable us to get back in the Dojo at the earliest opportunity. Please be aware that this is not a UK Certification, it is an Australian provider and so some of the practices maybe slightly different to what the requirement is in the UK and so will need your interpretation i.e.1.5m Social Distancing in Australia whereas in the UK it's a minimum of 2m. It is however the most applicable course available at the current time. If any other courses subsequently become available that are UK standard, we will forward details in due course.

We are working on a separate document that you can share with your students - which is relevant to them, the attached Guidance along with Risk Assessment is for Clubs and Instructors.

Thank you for your continued cooperation and if you have any questions then do not hesitate to contact me. Please ensure that all instructors in your club that teach are made aware of the above. We wish you and your families all the good health - Stay safe and take care of each other.
