Kyōtō Perspective
Kyōtō instructors and students are very much looking forward to this opportunity to train once again with Murakami Shuseki.
Opportunities to train under Murakami Sensei in the UK are relatively rare, making this seminar an important date in the calendar for anyone serious about their karate development.
This is particularly relevant for:
- Students preparing for Dan gradings, where broadening training experience beyond the home dojo is essential
- Kyoto students looking to deepen their understanding of Shotokan at the highest level
- Instructors continuing their own ongoing development within the Shotokan Karate-Do International Federation
Continuing the SKIF Journey
Murakami Sensei was last hosted in the UK during the 2024 SKIF-GB Summer Gasshuku, and his return provides another valuable opportunity for UK students.
Both Sensei Steve Ashby and Sensei Nick Bruce-Jones have also trained under Murakami Sensei more recently at international level, including:
- The European Championships, Crete (2025)
- The International European Seminar, Denmark (2024)
These experiences reinforce the importance of maintaining strong links with the wider SKIF international community.
About Murakami Shuseki
A former SKIF World Champion, Murakami Sensei has spent many years travelling the world teaching alongside the late Hirokazu Kanazawa.
He is widely regarded as one of the leading Shotokan instructors globally, known for:
- Exceptional technical precision
- Deep understanding of Shotokan principles
- The ability to translate high-level concepts into practical application
