Time to start saving some dates, we have another big year coming up in 2026 with lots of incredible instructors coming over to the UK to teach and also as the SKIF Family prepare for the 15th World Championships in Turkey.

🏯 Kyoto Shotokan Karate Dojo – 2026 Events
Kyoto Shotokan Karate Dojo will be actively involved in the 2026 SKIF-GB calendar, with instructors and students attending key courses, squad training sessions, gradings, and competitions throughout the year as part of their ongoing development within the SKIF structure.
These events form an important part of student development within the SKIF-GB structure, providing opportunities to train under senior instructors, gain experience, and progress within traditional Shotokan karate.
Within SKIF, instructor development is an ongoing process, with instructors continuing to train, attend courses, and develop alongside their students. This reflects the traditional understanding that progression in karate does not end with becoming an instructor, but continues throughout one’s training.
This approach helps ensure that students are taught by instructors who remain actively engaged in their own development within the wider SKIF-GB structure.
Details of upcoming events are also being reflected on the Kyoto website events page and will continue to be updated, alongside additional regional events as they are confirmed.
Kyoto will be actively supporting and promoting these opportunities to its students throughout the year.
This ensures that students at Kyoto have access to a clear pathway of development, with opportunities to train, grade, and compete at increasing levels as they progress.
